Beyoncé has some ridiculous tour rider demands...

Despite the expensive tickets, Beyoncé's Renaissance world tour continues to be a big hit. With a whopping gross of $154 million, it's now the highest-grossing tour by a black music artist in history. The Break My Soul hitmaker is the first woman to achieve this feat in the last four years.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé's firstborn, Blue Ivy Carter, has also garnered attention during the tour as she performs alongside her mother as a backup dancer. It makes you wonder how crazy it is behind the scenes, to cater to two big stars.

There are even rumors that the Destiny's Child alum brings her own toilet seats on tour. Her mother Tina Knowles recently set the record straight on that one. Here's everything she's said about it, plus a closer look at Beyoncé's ridiculous tour rider demands.

There are 550 people in Beyoncé's entourage on the Renaissance tour. That includes 10 chefs, including pastry chef Grant Bird who "wakes up at 4am to build his makeshift kitchen in a car park at the latest stop on the tour and covers the lunch and dinner servings for the team," per The Daily Mail.

"At 9.30pm he begins to dismantle his kitchen, before the tour bus leaves for its next destination at around 2am," added the outlet. "Unless you have a cigarette you don’t see the sunlight. Luckily, I smoke," the culinary professional said of his insane schedule.

The Obsessed star has 20 credited backup dancers who each get paid higher than $250 — a rumored daily wage that was previously slammed by the Grammy record-breaker's choreographer, JaQuel Knight. "Please run me the production company, the choreographer, the shoot dates, the dancers that have rehearsed and are shooting for these rates," he said (via Music Times).

Let's not forget the bodyguards — one of whom went viral for looking "hot" and "impressed" at the audience's "mute" during Bey's performance of Energy. The man was identified as James Plaza, a professional bodybuilder whose shirtless selfies on Instagram are making fans swoon.

In 2013, U.K.'s Daily Star got a copy of Beyoncé's alleged tour rider for her Mrs. Carter Show world tour. The list was labeled as "diva" demands as it included a strict 100% cotton dress code for all crew members, alkaline water chilled to 21 degrees to be served with $900 titanium straws, hand-carved iced balls to cool her throat after each show, and the infamous new toilet seats, plus red toilet paper at every stop.

At that time, E! News confirmed that Bey was using luxury dressing rooms at U.K.'s O2 Arena, as well as space often used to host entire sports teams. "They are much bigger though, and she was given free rein to refurbish them to her own taste," an insider said of the rooms to the London Evening Standard. "They're also in a quieter part of the backstage area, which gives her a better atmosphere to get focused for her shows."

In June 2023, The Sun revealed that the Dreamgirls star gifted hotel staff VIP tickets after asking them for a "specially prepared" vegan mac and cheese and staying in a suite filled with a wine collection, water bottles, and exotic fruits. "Beyonce is really sweet and very gracious to everyone around her, so always wants to thank the people who are taking care of her," said a source.

"They have gone above and beyond to look after her while she has been in the UK, so she treated them to some of the best tickets you can get," they continued. "It's her favourite hotel so she asked for the staff's emails to personally thank them."

In August 2023, Bey's mom denied that her daughter brought her own toilet seats on tour. "That is so ridiculous," Tina laughingly told TMZ. The story went viral after a box labeled "toilet seats" was photographed backstage at one of the singer's concerts.

"Those are stands that you put fans on," the matriarch said of the pictures. "They're called toilet seats." When asked about the rumors that the former Super Bowl headliner spends thousands on new toilet seats, Tina said, "That's too much."

A source previously told The Sun that "Beyoncé is such an elite performer she can literally request anything" and that "Her team makes great effort to ensure she has her own comforts and a personal toilet seat happens to be one."

They added that "Her tour roadies have seen everything so it's not a great deal for them, but it does raise a smile from people who happen to catch a glimpse of the branded container."

Some netizens were quick to judge the Diva singer, with some bringing up a clip of her visibly pissed at a missed cue during her silver horse moment in Amsterdam.
